Team Information

Hello! We are FRC Team 4360, Spudnik. We are based at Moorhead High School in Moorhead, MN. Our team is young, currently only in its second year of existence. Still, that doesn't prevent us from aiming for victory at the regional competition. Our lead mentor is Steve Lindaas, a professor at MSUM (Minnesota State University Moorhead). Other mentors include MSUM professor Matthew Craig, Doug Plante (an IT Analyst), and John Deere employees Ashley Kringle (Quality Engineer), Anthony Brown (Software Design Engineer), and Justin Stickt (student mentor). We also have several MSUM students mentoring. They are LeAnn Washenberger, Tony Woltman, James Diem, Sri Kadimisetty, and Iwnetim Abate.

Last year, (the 2012 season), Team Spudnik started with only 8 members. As a new team, we bumbled through the season, making plenty of mistakes along the way. The robot had plenty of issues, a huge one being the Jaguar motor controls overheating. Fortunately, we were able to fix that, not long before the competition. However, with all of the complications, there was no time to practice driving the robot before regionals, and as such didn't do astronomically. We learned a lot from our experience though, such as the importants of prototyping and specialization.

Now, Spudnik is much better prepared. We have more experience, more than twice as many members, and a stronger team in general. This year, we are ready for the competition, and we hope to give everyone a more fun challenge this time. :)
